Solution-dyed nylon and polyester fabrics, as compared to piece-dyed fabrics, will achieve this goal.
Traditional fabric dyeing is perhaps the most polluting stage in the textile industry. Heavy oil is used in dyeing, which produces CO2 gases. Also, the dye process consumes a lot of water. The discharge waste water in fabric dyeing is high in COD (chemical oxygen demand).
Solution-dyed fabrics eliminate most of the above because the color is added at the melt (extrusion) stage so the yarn itself emerges in its final color from the nozzle and never has to be dyed.
